Road users in the Midlands and East of England are being advised to check the weather forecast and road conditions before travelling tonight and tomorrow (10 July) as heavy rain is forecast.
The Met Office has issued an amber alert that heavy and persistent rain is likely to break out early on Tuesday and become more widespread through the morning before clearing away eastwards. However, some heavy showers or thunderstorms are expected to develop in places again during Tuesday afternoon.
